The Oakwood Curling Club was first started on December 5, 1940 in the Old Staking Arena.
In the fall of 1945, a movement was made to build our own rink.
The present building opened in the fall of 1946 with 3 ice sheets.
60 years later, the club is still going strong with over 100 members and 4 regular curling leagues, as well as hosting minor leagues from surrounding areas.
